THE CONCEPT
At Cormack, we pride ourselves on the caliber of Candidates we work with and are proud to have a diverse network of Talent in a wide variety of industries across Canada. These relationships are important to us, and we are determined to support our Cormack Candidates in finding their Dream Job to the best of our abilities.
The Problem: We don’t always have a current Client with an ACTIVE job opening to suit their specific skills when these talented individuals are ACTIVE Job Seekers.
The Solution: We created “THE SHORTLIST”- an avenue for us to highlight an elite group of Cormack Candidates who are ACTIVELY looking for work, in hopes of finding a match with an ACTIVELY hiring Employer.
Any Candidate can apply to be a part of The Shortlist. Once selected, the Candidates will go through a preliminary interview with one of our Recruitment Experts. From there, we’ll put together a gender-neutral profile to protect the Candidate’s anonymity, which will be shared exclusively with our Employer Partner mailing list. The recipients of the profile can request to meet the Candidate themselves OR forward the profile to a friend for consideration. Once a prospective Employer expresses interest in one of our Shortlist Candidates, they will be sent a short agreement to ensure all parties are protected. Next, once the Candidate has granted permission for us to do so, we will share the full resume with the prospective Employer. If they are interested in meeting with the Candidate, we work to coordinate those meetings, up to and including the offer stage.
THE PROCESS
Eligibility: Any Candidate can apply to be a part of The Shortlist, but spaces are limited. We showcase a MAXIMUM of 2 profiles a month via our mailing list, and a 3rd profile is highlighted in our monthly Employer Partner Newsletter. We do our best to ensure diversity in the types of profiles showcased, so depending on the Candidate’s background, if we have showcased a similar profile that month, we may not be able to add a profile to The Shortlist when they initially apply.

THE VALUE
For Candidates: It’s absolutely FREE – talk about a bargain! In accordance with federal guidelines, we never charge our Candidates for our services. All it costs you is your time to go through the process.
For Employer Partners: It is absolutely FREE to engage a Shortlist Candidate for an interview. As always, Cormack is a contingency-based business, so we don’t charge you a single cent until we actually place a candidate in role for you. Therefore, if you choose to interview a Shortlist Candidate and decide they simply aren’t the one for you, all it cost you was the time you invested to interview them. However, if you decide to offer a Shortlist Candidate a position with your company, we will charge you, BUT because we have already done half the work to source and interview all of the Candidates on The Shortlist, we figured it was only fair to give you a 50% discount on our regular recruitment fees! Sounds fair, right? You still get the same 3-month Guarantee Period we offer with every Placement, so if they don’t work out for one reason or another, you can still activate a Replacement Search at no additional cost.
