At Cormack, we pride ourselves on the caliber of Candidates we work with and are proud to have a diverse network of Talent in a wide variety of industries across Canada. These relationships are important to us and we are determined to support our Cormack Candidates in finding their Dream Job to the best of our abilities.
To assist our Candidates in discovering more opportunities of interest and expose prospective Clients to top talent, we're proud to launch our new initiative, the Cormack SHORTLIST.
THE PROBLEM
Although Cormack is proud to work with a diverse group of Clients, unfortunately those Clients don't always have an active opening that is suitable for all active Job Seekers within our network of professionals.
THE SOLUTION
Introducing the Cormack SHORTLIST, an avenue for us to highlight an elite group of Cormack Candidates that are ACTIVELY looking for work, in hopes of finding a match with an ACTIVELY hiring Employer.
THE VALUE
Prospective employers can be introduced to a Cormack SHORTLIST Candidate for a nominal fee, ultimately saving countless hours of Recruitment and potentially thousands of dollars in Placement fees.
Every 30 days, an email is sent out to all participants on the Shortlist to see if they have been successful in finding a job or not. If they have found their Dream Job, they will be removed from the applicable list and a new Candidate will be added, if available. Our goal is to have these updates completed the first calendar week of every month.
At Cormack, Reference Checks are only completed as a final step in the Recruitment Process. Therefore, unless a Candidate on The Shortlist has either been Placed by Cormack or reached the final stage of the process for an active Cormack Search, NO they will not have had their References or Background Check completed prior to being added to the list.
If a prospective Employer reaches out to Cormack to express interest in being connected with a Candidate on the Cormack Shortlist, the Recruiter connected with the Candidate will first ask some high-level qualifying questions of the Employer to ensure the potential job opportunity meets the needs of the Candidate. This would include, but not be limited to: compensation details, location, job title, overview of job duties, etc.
If the Recruiter deems the Employer to be a potential match for the Candidate, the Recruiter would gather the prospective Employer's contact information and reach out to the Candidate in question to determine their interest level. If the Candidate agrees to the match, the Recruiter would facilitate an electronic introduction between the Candidate and prospective Employer that would include a current Resume for the Candidate.
The experience for both the Candidate and Employer following the electronic introduction will vary depending on the terms/services agreed upon between Cormack and the prospective Employer in advance of the introduction.
There are several options a prospective Employer can choose when engaging a Candidate off the Cormack Shortlist:
1. Simple Introduction - once all 3 parties (Cormack, Candidate and Employer) have agreed there is a potential match, Cormack will facilitate an electronic introduction between the prospective Employer and the Candidate. This introduction will include a current Resume for the Candidate as well as the profile highlights from the Cormack Shortlist for that individual.
Once the introduction has taken place, the Employer will be responsible for managing their own interview process. Cormack will not provide any additional services and there will be no Guarantee Period associated with the Candidates prospective employment with the Employer. The Employer will receive an invoice for a Flat Rate* following the introduction to the Candidate. Payment is due upon receipt.
2. Introduction & References - once all 3 parties (Cormack, Candidate and Employer) have agreed there is a potential match, Cormack will facilitate an electronic introduction between the prospective Employer and the Candidate.. This introduction will include a current Resume for the Candidate as well as the profile highlights from the Cormack Shortlist for that individual.
Once the introduction has been facilitated, the Employer will be responsible for managing their own interview process. When they have decided to proceed with hiring the Candidate, Cormack will complete 2 Professional Reference Checks, including Criminal and Credit Check (if required) on the Candidate, submitting written summaries of completed References and Background reports to the Employer for their files. The Employer will receive an invoice for a Flat Rate* following the completion of the Reference Checks. Payment is due upon receipt. There will be a 1 month Guarantee Period associated with this Placement.
3. Full Cormack Experience - once all 3 parties (Cormack, Candidate and Employer) have agreed there is a potential match, Cormack will review, in detail, the scope of the position the Employer is considering the Candidate for with the applicable Hiring Manager. Next, the Recruiter will conduct a full interview of the Candidate in consideration for that specific position and submit a full Cormack Profile, including a synopsis of the interview and a current Resume, for the Candidate to the Hiring Manager. From there, Cormack will manage the coordination of interviews with the Employer and conduct 2 professional Reference Checks prior to Placement.
Once the Candidate has signed the employment contract with the Employer, Cormack will invoice the Employer a percentage of the successful candidate's base salary with a corresponding guarantee period, previously agreed upon prior to Candidate engagement. This invoice will be due 30 days following receipt.
In order to qualify for The Shortlist, a Candidate must be interviewed by a Cormack Recruitment Expert either as a General Applicant or an Active Applicant.
Unfortunately, Cormack is only licensed to conduct Recruitment within Canada. Therefore, we are only able to work with Candidates who are currently living in Canada that are either Permanent Residents, Canadian Citizens or in possession of an OPEN Work Permit.
First and foremost, The Shortlist is broken out into 5 categories of Candidate:
Within each of these categories, we plan to highlight a maximum of 5 Candidates that are actively looking for work. Each of the Candidates listed in their respective category will all be unique from one another in some way - location, industry, area of specialty or all of the above, but they will all be at a similar level of experience. For example, you may find an Administrative Assistant from Vancouver, BC and an HR Coordinator from Toronto, ON both on The Entry-Level Shortlist.
Which means that, ultimately, there will never be more than 25 Candidates at any given time on the Cormack Shortlist.
The Cormack Shortlist is NOT a ranking system. The Candidate listed in the #1 spot is no more qualified or better than the Candidate listed in the #5 spot. The order they are in is randomly generated.
We'll help you find the team member you're looking for.
Cormack Recruitment and HR Experts are proud to maintain an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau!
